Blue Couch

Digitaria didactyla

Blue Couch is a warm season grass that is naturalised in the coastal regions of Northern New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. Due to its adaptation to soils that are sandy and acidic, it is able to tolerate lower soil fertility, but will also react well to the addition of fertiliser. It is also known for being less invasive due to the fact that it does not produce underground rhizomes.

Factors to consider when choosing Blue Couch:
• Ability to be mown short
• Good drought tolerance
• Reasonable wear tolerance
• Fine to medium texture
